Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Officer Assistant to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations.

Main responsibilities include maintaining and updating the register of processing activities, assisting in developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures, reviewing contracts, collaborating with administrative and scientific services to carry out data protection impact assessments, analyzing discrepancies between practices and legal obligations, and contributing to the implementation of new tools and methods to facilitate data processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update the LNS's register of processing activities;
  • Assist the DPO in developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures;
  • Review contracts (e.g., DPA);
  • Collaborate with the DPO in the event of data breaches and the exercise of data subjects' rights;
  • Collaborate with administrative and scientific services to carry out data protection impact assessments (DPIAs);
  • Analyze the needs of the laboratory's different services (administration & medical services) in terms of training related to personal data protection;
  • Contribute to the implementation of new tools and methods to facilitate data processing in compliance with regulations;
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in law preferably with an option related to data protection;
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience;
  • Certification in data protection would be considered as an asset;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in data protection;
  • Solid knowledge of information technology, law and specific healthcare legislation;
  • Capacity to work autonomously;
  • Demonstrate objectivity, impartiality, integrity and discretion;
  • Have a critical and analytical mind, and respect confidentiality;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate authority and diplomacy when necessary;
  • Fluency in English and French is essential; knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish would be considered as an asset.
