**Your Job**
The Coater Process Engineer / Coater Scientist, based in Bascharage plant, primarily supports production operations, provides technical assistance with glass and color chemistry, raw material evaluations and process troubleshooting. In addition, the Scientist fulfills operations requests for product modification and development.
**What You Will Do**
- Readily available for troubleshooting production issues and conducting line trials
- Assist color analyst with color formulation
- Optimize existing products evaluating test methods, raw materials, and process variables
- Manage formulas and ensure alignment with BOMs
- Develop/modify products and formulate colors for operations requests
- Investigate raw material, product quality issues and customer claims
- Alternate material evaluations - testing, trials, reporting, determine cost impact
- Execute assigned productivity projects, primarily material substitutions
- Follow production KPI for process continuous improvement
**Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)**
- Proven experience directly supporting operations in a production setting
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory operation and testing experience in a wet chemistry lab
- Significant experience with glass products (preferred) or plastics, coatings, or chemicals
- Experience color matching, use of spectrophotometers, and color chemistry
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science (chemistry preferred, biology, or physics)
- Fluency in French and English

- Write procedures documenting best work practices
- Metrology and audit experience is a plus
- Effectively use Microsoft Excel and Word; Access and Minitab experience is a plus
- Effectively interface with production and maintenance associates
- Must have flexible schedule to support operations
- Economic thinking skills
