**EIF Posting**:
**The European Investment Fund (EIF), **is seeking to recruit for its** Strategy Coordination, Client Relationship and Business Support Department (SCCR&BS) - Guarantees Business Support (GBS) Unit, **at its headquarters** in Luxembourg,* (Senior) Officer(s). This is a full-time position at grade 4/5 for which the EIF offers a permanent contract.**

This is a generic campaign in view of possible future vacancies

Panel interviews via video-conference are anticipated for March 2023.

**Purpose**:
EIF provides access to finance to SMEs through a wide range of selected financial intermediaries (as e.g. banks, guarantee, leasing and microfinance institutions, private equity and venture capital funds, etc.). To this end, EIF designs, promotes and implements equity and debt financial instruments, which specifically target SMEs. EIF’s activity is funded through both its own share capital as well as funding resources entrusted by third parties to EIF as a manager or advisor (so called “Mandates”).

The Strategy Coordination, Client Relationship & Business Support (“SCCR&BS”) Department supports the Front Office teams on both equity investments and guarantees. Besides the strategic coordination, the Department aims at enhancing market intelligence and the development of new financial products.

Within the SCCR&BS Department, the GBS Unit supports the guarantee teams by preparing waivers and amendments of contractual clauses of guarantee agreements and interact with the relevant EIF Services and clients until termination of transactions. It manages the terminations of the guarantee agreements, mainly under different European Commission (EC) and regional mandates.

**Operating Network**:
You will report to the Head of the GBS Unit, who in turn reports to the Head of SCCR&BS Department, and you will work in close cooperation with the guarantee Front Office teams, and many other EIF Services. The role requires also regular interaction with the EC and financial intermediaries.

Accountabilities:

- Prepare and coordinate waiver and amendment notes in close cooperation with EIF Services;
- Manage the termination of the guarantee agreements in line with the respective EC or regional mandate requirements by:

- identifying the portfolios eligible for termination;
- liaising with the relevant Front Office team and the intermediary;
- preparing internal notes.
- Interact with counterparts inside and outside the EIF on questions related to debt transactions after signature; namely waivers, amendments and terminations;
- Contribute pro-actively to the improvement of existing processes and to the development of automated solutions.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate (after having obtained your initial university diploma) relevant professional experience at the same level of responsibility preferably in the financial sector within a loan administration, risk management, middle or front office function;
- Proven knowledge of financial products (loans, guarantees);
- Prior experience in a similar IFI and/or international organisation would be an advantage;
- Knowledge of standard banking computer tools;
- Good understanding of EIF’s mission and activities as well as its political and operating framework;
- General understanding and knowledge of EU regulations regarding financial instruments;Very good drafting skills in English;,
- Fluency in written and oral English. Knowledge of other European Union languages would be an advantage.
