The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.
**How will you contribute?**:
The first project consists in modelling different dimensions of a human being, to be implemented in a digital twin, with the goal of facilitating human-cyber physical systems collaboration (including intelligent artificial agents and robots), in an industrial production context. The human dimensions (e.g., personality, emotion, intention, cognitive aspects, etc.) will have to be linked to relevant social science and humanities theories. This will be further implemented within a Digital Twin framework based on ontological modelling, reasoning, and machine-learning, in collaboration with a PhD student and a team of researchers.
The second project consists in the analysis of a survey seeking to understand energy literacy of citizens and upskilling them, reinforcing a dedicated research team to work more specifically on behaviour analytics and its translation into efficient nudges able to upskill and change people’s behaviour related to energy use.
The third project aims to strengthen the uptake of cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure in the water sector, through co-creation and implementation of trainings for the target groups along the entire chain of responsibilities and tasks and improve the digital readiness and resilience of organisations.
In this context, you should be able to:
- model human-robot and human-Artificial Intelligence collaboration, especially involving social cognition;
- conduct descriptive and inferential statistics using statistical software in the humanities and social sciences (SPSS, JASP);
- conduct and analyse semi-structured interviews and focus groups;
- assess emotions and other human dimensions using physiological and declarative techniques;
- work in a multi-disciplinary environment, especially with engineering and computer scientists;
- design competency framework with the objective to design relevant learning path.
**Education**
PhD in cognitive science or psychology applied to human-machine interaction
**Language skills**
Good level both written and spoken English and French
