The **Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences** (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the **disciplinary** approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.
The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on **social, economic, political **and** educational** issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers six Bachelor and twenty Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.
**Your Role...**:
The research scientist (maître assistant) will support ongoing, and iniate new research and transfer projects in psycho-educational assessment in higher education (e.g., admissions testing, course evaluations, quality assurance), and complement the aforementioned mission-oriented projects with original research in areas of strategic relevance to the LUCET. Following general research tasks are included in the responsibilities of the research scientist:
- contribute to the extention of LUCET’s core mission from primary and secondary education into tertiary education and beyond
- support ongoing research and transfer projects in psycho-educational assessment in higher education (e.g., admissions testing, course evaluations, quality assurance)
- initiate and coordinate new research and transfer projects in psycho-educational assessment in higher education
- support and initiate original research projects/publications in areas of strategic relevance to the LUCET
- teach and supervise students in selected Bachelor and Master programmes (e.g., Master in Secondary Education)
- organize and supervize data collections in higher education
- organize communication with external partners (political and educational stakeholders, logistic suppliers, etc.)
- organize internal communication (project documentation, trainings, FAQs)
- coordinate and co-author reports related to the LUCET’s core mission
- contribute to public outreach efforts
- participate in grant writing to acquire competitive research funding
- perform any other tasks within the framework of the position
**What we expect from you**:
- PhD in psychological (or related) sciences with specialization in the area of educational and/or experimental psychology; a focus on motivational and emotional processes is a plus
- Solid research experience in educational contexts
- Proven experise to initiate/contritube to pertinent high-impact publications
- Proven expertise in (1) psycho-educational (large-scale) assessment, (2) coordination & moderation of teams, (3) project management, (4) scientific and public outreach writing
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Very good oral and written competences in English; German, French, and/or Luxembourgish is a plus
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
