For our headquarter office based in Dudelange, we are currently looking for a Purchasing Specialist.
**Primary function:
Under the supervision of the Procurement Manager, the Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the specification, definition, evaluation and selection of possible vendors. He/she is responsible for the negotiation of assigned items/services, both Raw Material and MRO related. The Purchasing Specialist also maintains up to date several key purchasing databases such as price catalogues and vendor’s references. He/she supports the Purchasing team in various daily responsibilities and administrative aspects and works together with other departments on assigned projects.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- For pre-defined category of materials and/or services:
- coordinates (with the support of other departments) full specification set-up,
- identifies existing or new possible sources,
- validates new sources,
- negotiates, evaluates and implements best sourcing options once decided,
- finalizes contract documents.
- Updates, monitors and enhances raw material pricing recording with adequate information sharing for other stakeholders;
- Monitors and reviews periodically savings generated, competitiveness and service levels;
- Handles new raw material evaluation requests and creation process (internal and external communications);
- Coordinates and shares with other departments (preferred) supplier choices, commercial conditions by raw material and/or supplier, service types, etc;
- Ensures with Finance proper invoice/pricing control;
- Handles supplier’s creation / change processes;
- Builds and maintains spreadsheets / databases for tracking purchasing activities;
- Performs all other additional projects and duties as assigned by management.
**Education and experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain management or related field;
- 5 years’ Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Ideally, a technical background or at least ability to assimilate key characteristics and criteria.
**Requirements:
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written) and understanding of French is an advantage. Another language is an asset;
- Excellent negotiation skills;
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize workload;
- Strong communication skills;
- Computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint);
- Analytical mind;
- Pro-active, dynamic and able to work positively under pressure;
- Problem solving skills.
