Bioinformatician

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Understand the general sequencing workflow ;
- Run and modify pipelines for RNA sequence alignment;
- Process the data and reports generated by the quality control tools;
- Process and analyze the generated sequencing data, including single-cell RNA-seq;
- Supervise and prioritize the tasks for sequencing data analysis;
- Transfer and integrate the data from LNS into a local data management platform of LIH;
- Communicate and present data analysis findings to supervisors and end-users;
- Aware of data protection, confidentiality and GDPR;
- Use standards and good practices to ensure data quality and consistency.

**KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Master or PhD degree in bioinformatics, data science, biostatistics, computational biology or a related field;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar domain;
- Knowledge of the basic Linux environment, ability to use containers;
- Proficiency in bioinformatics software, scripting languages (R, Python);
- Knowledge of statistics and data science;
- Proven experience in the single cell RNA-seq domain;
- Knowledge in gene pathway analysis and gene regulatory networks;
- Excellent level in English;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and dissemination of findings;
- Experience in managing research or educational projects is an asset;
- Understanding of ethical considerations, data privacy, and compliance in the context of bioinformatics research.
