Junior Storage

The Storage & Backup Engineer is a role that requires a good mix of technical skills and experience in technical support.
- You provide technical expertise in storage engineering, backup administration, and operations by joining a team of engineers who manage storage and backup solutions, and ensure proper configuration, availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance in the existing environment. You support in many aspects the day-to-day service operations:

You provide technical expertise in storage engineering, backup administration, and operations by joining a team of engineers who manage storage and backup solutions, and ensure proper configuration, availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance in the existing environment. You support in many aspects the day-to-day service operations:

- You configure, maintain and serve as primary administrator over a SAN/NAS based storage environment;
- You administer and configure Brocade Fibre Channel Directors/Switches;
- You create and maintain technical documentation;
- You monitor, tune, and troubleshoot IO performance issues;
- You make architecture and performance recommendations;
- You oversee daily backup activities;
- You collaborate with IT staff on storage & backup needs;
- You monitor and create backup jobs, and troubleshoot failures;
- You automate, administer, manage, run and make reliable processes;
- You identify and assess technical issues and risks;
- You perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
- Competences techniques- You have a technical background of between 2-5 years’ relevant experience;
- You have knowledge in:

- Large Scale Storage Area Network Systems (e.g. Dell/EMC, NetApp, HDS, etc.);
- Fiber Channel switches Cisco and/or Brocade;
- server platform (Windows & Linux);
- scripting (Perl, Python);
- You have experience with:

- operating Storage Area Network (SAN), and Network Attached Storage (NAS); as well as migrating/consolidating SAN/NAS;
- NFS/CIFS and Block Storage;
- network switches, fiber channel and VLAN configuration;
- You have used to work in managed service environment;
- You have some Data Replication & Snapshot technologies expertise;
- Knowledge/experience on CommVault Backup tool & administration is considered as an asset;
- Competences generales- You are able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritise among competing needs, and respond quickly to requests for information;
- You are used to project management processes, and procedures;
- You are able to work and communicate in a multi-cultural environment;
- You have a service oriented mindset, are self-driven and have the willingness to expand your technical skill set;
- You are ready to provide 24/7 support- Langues- English (fluent)
