**About us...**
The **Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB)** is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg. We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_ - with a focus on neurodegenerative processes. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists, and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. **Your Role...**
- Develop targeted mass spectrometry-based metabolomics methods for metabolites of interest
- Perform targeted and untargeted mass spectrometry-based metabolomics analyses in biological samples
- Perform stable isotope labeling-based metabolomics analyses in biological samples
- Perform metabolomics data analysis
- Perform transcriptomics data analysis, including from single cell RNAseq
- Contribute to chemical identification of relevant unknown peaks using cheminformatics approaches and final validation using targeted methods
- Set up and perform metabolic enzyme assays using various techniques
- Design and produce recombinant plasmids for various purposes (e.g. protein overexpression, transgenesis)
- Perform analysis of all generated experimental data, including statistics
- Use modern data management and establish precise project documentation
- Work in a collaborative environment, also with different service-based core platforms (e.g. sequencing, metabolomics facilities)
- Independent drafting of project reports and grant proposals
- Contributing to writing manuscripts for publication in high-quality journals
- Presentation of research findings at internal, national, and international scientific meetings
**What we expect from you**
- Master’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or another similar life science-related discipline
- Experience with and strong background in metabolic biochemistry, enzymology, and molecular biology
- Experience in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics
- Keen interest in investigating the molecular basis of rare neurological/neurometabolic diseases
- Strong motivation to contribute specific parts to larger projects
- Strong computational skills, including programming
- Solid bioinformatic and biostatistics skills
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in oral and written English is essential
