Jr. Flight Dispatcher

TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Produce optimized computerized flight plans
- Generate and certify accurate flight plan data for flight crew to enable safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations ensuring aircraft depart with the correct flight plan and relevant documentation
- Provide flight following service by monitoring and assessing information received from departure until the completion of the flight. In addition, when required, critical information is passed onto the Operations Controller, flight crew and other affected parties
- Ensure accurate Flight Plan documentation is delivered in a timely manner
- Liaise with relevant authorities (e.g. Eurocontrol) and service providers on matters pertaining to Flight Dispatch and Slot Control operations
- Work closely with Operations Control, Flight Operations and Eurocontrol to optimize the airline’s ATC slot management
- Make recommendations with respect to the Flight Planning Policy and SOP’s
- Where necessary, being proactive and initiating action to resolve or improve operations
- Optimize payload uplift
- Optimization of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) slot management
- Brief flight crews on all operational matters in order to allow them to conduct safe and efficient flight operations
- Effectively communicate operational issues or restrictions to relevant operational departments (e.g., Load Control, Operations Control, Maintenance Control etc.)
- Calculate aircraft performance
- Provide authorities and air traffic control agencies with the most up to date ATC flight plans
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and operational procedure during the flight planning in accordance with national and international applicable legislation
- Maintain up to date awareness of the weather forecast and the serviceability of essential en-route and terminal facilities
- Maintain continuous communications watch 24/7
- Perform extra operational or administrative tasks assigned in order to have the most optimum working environment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

- General school leaving certificate of secondary education or equivalent (e.g. A-Level, BAC, Abitur)
- Holder of an active FAA/ICAO/GCAA Flight Dispatcher License or a Flight Dispatcher Certificate
- At least 5 years relevant aviation experience in Flight Operations preferably related to worldwide flight operations
- Experience with EDTO/ETOPS operations
- Experience with LIDO/FLIGHT is considered as an advantage
- Lido Flight Data Maintenance is an advantage
- Worldwide dispatching experience
- Understanding of additional systems which support the Flight Dispatch position (e.g., ACARS, SATCOM, etc.)
- Boeing 747 Freighter experience is an advantage
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Proven ability to source multiple forms of information and provide accurate recommendations based on this information
- Exceptional communication skills and fluent in written and spoken English. Any other languages are considered an advantage
- Ability to work autonomously and make key decisions without prejudice or favor
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Understands both the broad and detailed objectives of the Flight Operations and Operations Control Units
- Ability to understand complex technical problems and implement solutions that are effective is an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Full time position based in Luxembourg
- Shift Work position 24/7
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
