**EIF Posting**:
The **European Investment Fund (EIF)** is seeking to recruit for its **Data Hub Division - Data Input and Validation Unit **at its headquarters in **Luxembourg, **a **Trainee - Data Input and Validation.**

Duration: five (5) months & Starting date: August/September 2023

**_ Specific Post Environment:_**

In the context of its Equity activity, EIF provides access to finance to SMEs through private equity and venture capital funds, mainly operating as a fund-of-funds. EIF’s equity activity is funded through both its own share capital as well as funding resources entrusted by third parties to EIF as a manager/advisor (the “Mandates”).

In its capacity as mandate manager/advisor, EIF is under the obligation to carry out ex ante (for new fund investees) and/or ex post (for every fund and mandate portfolio) controls on the equity operations, to ensure that the Mandates are effectively and correctly implemented. In this context, the Data Hub Division is responsible for ensuring quality data inflows from operations and quality data usage for operational and business intelligence purposes.

**_ Overall objective:_**

You will be primarily involved in supporting the team on data cleaning and digital initiatives of the Data Hub Division - Data Input and Validation Unit (with primary focus on Unit’s key projects: Robot Processing Automation (hereafter “RPA”) and Middle Office Tool project (hereafter “MoT”)).

**_ Responsibilities_**:
Under the guidance of a Senior Officer, you shall contribute to:

- For implementation of RPA in document management activity of the team:

- operate and manage the robot;
- support process adjustments and process improvements;
- provide any other project related support.
- For MoT project:

- prepare files for testing;
- performing data cleanup;
- provide any other project related support.
- Assist in new projects initiated by the team, such as Natural Language Processing (hereafter “NLP”) or Artificial Intelligence (hereafter “AI”) technology that is to be tested for data extraction capabilities or automation of other processes related to data collection and validation.

**_ Expected outcome:_**
- For RPA: enhancement of process automated with RPA with the aim that manual interventions and any manual work needed from the team are fully minimized;
- For NLP and AI: assistance in new initiatives which will allow the team to quickly test the technology as part of proof of concept and to start implementation.

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Degree in IT, Engineering, Economics, Business, Science or in a similar field;
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- Good knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices;
- Fluency in English;
- Previous experience with any of the new technologies introduced into Unit’s processes (e.g. machine learning, NLP, AI, RPA etc.) would be considered an advantage;
- Previous experience with data cleaning would be considered an advantage.

**_ Competencies:_**
- Strong analytical skills and high affinity with numbers, data intensive processes and technology;
- Creativity, and ability to analyze problems from new angles, and to identify and develop solutions depending on the issues to be addressed;
- Capacity to work and prioritize efficiently under strict deadlines and time pressure;
- Proactivity, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and ability to organise own work effectively even under time pressure;
- Good interpersonal skills, with an open-minded and resilient attitude;
- Attention to detail.
