The **EIB**, the European Union's bank is seeking to recruit for its Human Resources Directorate (HR), HR Strategy & Governance Department (HRS&G), Medical Services Unit (MSU) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an **Occupational Health Nurse*.**

**This is a full-time, temporary position at grade 2/3.**

**The term of this contract will be 1 year; **_as this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen._**

**Purpose**:
You will contribute to the implementation of policies and medical follow-ups by the Occupational Health Services and take actions for the prevention of occupational injury and disease through a comprehensive pro-active occupational health and safety strategy.

**Operating Network**:
The Occupational Health Nurse monitor the staff members’ health and be responsible for prevention and promotion of health at work. S/he ensures the smooth running of the Occupational Health Services and provides comprehensive administrative, health related and medical work together with the OH physician.

The Occupational Health Nurse respects of the absolute confidentiality of personal health related data, discretion and interpersonal sensitivity are key requirements of the post.

The client Population is approximately 4000 Staff + 500 Consultants.

**Accountabilities**:

- Provide direct emergency care and nursing assistance to all EIB staff and consultants, including assessment, treatment, evaluation, referral (if necessary) and follow-up of all occupational injuries and illness, in accordance with the Bank policies and procedures.
- Organize and provide travel health advice & immunization to staff going on missions.
- Ergonomic workstation analyses and proposal of adaptations relating to the health condition of the staff member.
- Participate in identifying, preventing, and monitoring occupational health problems. This includes the follow-up of staff and the administrative management of specific files (long illness absence, work accidents ).
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in occupational health and support the implementation of plans and initiatives in particular: prevention and health promotion programmers, stress, musculoskeletal and injury prevention, first aid, health education, public health epidemiology incl. handling of pandemics, smoking cessation, weight control, and screening for cardiovascular and other risks.
- Administer the Occupational Health Services budget and related procurement procedures (this includes management of contracts with external service providers, the management of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, the maintenance and replacement, as required, of Occupational Health Services equipment).
- Maintain the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting on the health services’ activities (e.g. produce regular reports & ad hoc statistics).
- Maintain own knowledge and awareness on new and/or updated policies and rules in occupational health domain (e.g. hygiene rules).

**Qualifications**:

- Nursing diploma with valid license to practice professionally.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a hospital environment or a company medical facility, including advanced training in acute care and emergency medicine.
- Good knowledge of travel medicine and immunization.
- Deep understanding of the administrative policies and procedures governing the management of medical files.
- Specialist occupational health nurse training would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of policies and rules in occupational health domain (e.g. hygiene rules) would be an advantage.
- Deep understanding of ergonomics would be an advantage.
- Experience (or equivalent training) in the fields of public health or risk prevention is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English and a good command of French; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
