**The opportunity**
We are looking for a qualified and experienced finance colleague. In this position you will be responsible for the overall financial reporting and analysis of our capital markets entities Swiss Re Capital Markets Europe ("SRCME") and Swiss Re Capital Markets Limited ("SRCML"). You will report to the SRCME CFO. The role will be based in Luxembourg.
The principal objective of SRCME is to act as a carrier for the derivatives transactions on behalf of Swiss Re Group ECM (Environmental & Commodity Markets) and ACP (Alternative Capital Partners) to serve their EU clients. In both activities, SRCME is acting as back-to-back entity, fronting external clients: i) For ECM this means that all SRCME investment risk is transferred to, and ultimately taken and managed by, another Swiss Re entity with the related profit (or loss) ultimately borne by that entity; ii) For ACP, all insurance-linked securities, i.e., generally catastrophe bonds, are first structured and underwritten by other Group companies, where the associated costs are therefore recharged.
**Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:
- High quality, accurate and timely financial reporting (statutory, regulatory).
- Support the preparation, of internal/external presentation/reporting.
- Maintaining and monitoring interactions between source systems and investment/general ledger systems. Ensure validity, accuracy & completeness of general ledger.
- Support the financial and business planning processes.
- Support on local tax compliance and tax planning matters.
- Support and review the accuracy of intergroup service agreements/outsourcing and related charges. Ensure that financial reporting risk are appropriately handled including documentation, assessment, and monitoring of key controls.
- Liaise with other internal functions and legal entity key function holders and support projects.
- Support the coordination of audit activities with internal and external auditors.
- Engaging and communicating effectively with designated regulatory authorities and industry bodies, where required.
- Support CFO in ad hoc tasks.
- Act as back-up and delegate for the CFO.
**Requirements**:
- CA, CFA or similar Finance qualification.
- +/-5 years relevant working experience in financial services.
- Solid understanding of Local and International reporting standards (Lux GAAP/IFRS).
- Solid understanding of CSSF and/ FCA reporting requirements.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
