**About the Team**
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is a leading global market in the Weather, Energy Commodity & Power Plant risk transfer market. We offer a wide range of climate, power, natural gas, and power plant outage risk solutions in insurance and capital market form. Our clients include power and gas utilities, retailers, independent power producers (IPPs), renewables, banks, and other energy industry sectors.
**About the role**
In this role you would support the international Environmental & Commodity Markets Team of Swiss Re who offers tailor-made derivative contracts for institutional investors who want to hedge against weather and commodity price risks. You would be part of the Business Management team and work closely with Origination, Underwriting and Portfolio Risk to support financial reporting and analysis, risk reporting and valuation, and the execution and improvement of internal processes.
Your responsibilities include:
- Keep oversight and provide management update on daily mark-to-market valuation, P&L moves, Risk utilization for the Weather & Commodities book
- Perform monthly model calibrations and help with the independent price verification of Derivatives position
- Provide business analytics and reports for various committees, Board meetings and Senior Management presentations
- Assist with the governance of legal entities involved
- Collaborate with different teams across Corporate Solutions and Asset Management for delivering solutions along the end-to-end trade lifecycle
- Communicate with the ECM stakeholder community providing ad hoc services on valuation controls and reporting
- Take ownership in key projects improving the overall trade lifecycle management process
**About you**
- Master's degree in a quantitative science such as economics, engineering, mathematics, computer sciences
- Analytical problem-solving skills and interest in learning new techniques
- At least 5 years of experience in financial markets, ideally in derivatives valuation and risk management
- Good knowledge of insurance and underwriting approaches, processes and tools is a plus
- Able to communicate and independently collaborate with internal customers
- Strong desire to work in virtual, multi-national, multi-cultural, cross-company and cross-functional teams
- Experience in using a programming language like VBA/C++, MATLAB, R or Python would be a plus
