**EIF Posting**:
The **European Investment Fund** is seeking to recruit for its **Equity Investments (“EI”) **department at its headquarters in **Luxembourg**, several** Investment Analysts. This is a full-time position requiring travelling at grade 4/5 (depending on experience).**

- This is a generic campaign in the view of addressing both current vacancies and to a create reserve list for future vacancies. Retention of the reserve list will be for a maximum period of 18 months._

**_ Purpose:_**

Technological breakthroughs and advancements are taking place at an ever-increasing pace, shaping the world of tomorrow. In line with EIF’s purpose to stimulate sustainable and inclusive growth by providing access to risk finance to Europe’s businesses, the mission of the Equity Investments team is to foster sustainable innovation, entrepreneurship and the growth of European SMEs and Mid-Caps, to make them stronger, more competitive and better equipped to face global economic developments. With this objective, EIF invests annually over EUR 6bn in Venture Capital, Private Equity/Credit and/or Infrastructure funds.

As an investment professional you will operate within the EU Private Equity and Venture Capital sector, across the following areas: Technology & Innovation, Sustainable Growth, Life Sciences, Climate & Environmental Impact, Social Impact, Infrastructure and Private Credit. You will contribute to the identification, appraisal, negotiation and monitoring of (co-) investments in (or alongside) funds throughout the European Union and the Pre-Accession Countries.

**_ Operating network:_**

Based in Luxembourg and working in a team of analysts, you will under the supervision and guidance of the senior investment team members contribute to the evaluation of new fund investment opportunities and the monitoring of the existing investment portfolio. As per the investment process set up at the EIF, the job requires a constant interface with other parts of the organization, including legal, risk management and compliance departments.

As part of a dedicated analyst program, you are offered a unique experience within the European risk financing markets, gaining unparalleled exposure to various geographies and investment strategies. After successful training, analysts will become an integral part of EI’s primary investment teams.

**_ Responsibilities:_**

At a level commensurate with your experience and seniority, you will:

- Contribute to the implementation of the EI business plan, participating in the research, identification and initial assessment of fund investment opportunities.
- Perform due diligence on new fund opportunities, including preparing detailed performance and benchmarking analyses, participating in due diligence meetings, making reference calls, and conducting independent research, as applicable.
- Directly contribute to the preparation of the internal investment documentation for the attention of the various EIF decision making bodies.
- Monitor primary fund investments (including valuation reviews and contribution towards internal reporting) through attendance of AGMs and Advisory Board meetings, reviewing quarterly and annual reports, and participating in portfolio update calls, including preparing internal notes and updating internal systems.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative information on developments in markets and companies relevant to EIF’s business, and on any aspects that may affect the EIF portfolio.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with fund managers and mandators.

**_ Qualifications: _**
- University degree in finance, business administration, a science-based discipline or any other relevant topic;
- Post-graduate qualifications constitute a distinct advantage;
- At least three (3) years and no more than five (5) years of post-qualification relevant professional experience at the same level of responsibility;
- Previous experience in a financial or corporate environment (banking, audit, corporate finance, fund monitoring and management, etc.) with exposure to Venture Capital, Private Equity/Credit and/or Infrastructure industry desired;
- Good IT skills (MS Office: mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written). Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
