Junior Officer - Fund Accounting PE/RE

Arendt Services, part of Arendt & Medernach, the biggest law firm in Luxembourg, is seeking a Junior Officer – Fund Accounting PE/RE(m/f). Operating under the status of Professional of Financial Sector, Arendt Services provides a variety of services including domiciliation, corporate secretarial, fund services, tax-compliance services, and more.

Role overview:

  • Handle accounting tasks for diverse PERE funds, maintaining accurate records and timely transaction recordings;
  • Calculate net asset values of funds on periodic basis, preparing reporting packs under various standards;
  • Manage bookkeeping for intricate structures and ensure proper record filing;
  • Communicate with investment managers and other stakeholders;
  • Assist in financial statement preparation/review for audit purposes;
  • Collaborate with external parties such as auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies;
  • Understand complex fund structures and their accounting treatment;
  • Own the entire fund reporting cycle, from interpreting fund governing documentation to producing financial statements;
  • Prepare tax/VAT reporting and required client reports;
  • Ensure timely responses to client inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Hold a university degree in accounting, business, or mathematics with solid understanding of accounting principles;
  • 1-3 years of experience with PERE funds, preferably in asset management groups in Luxembourg;
  • Familiarity with regulations on Alternative funds like RAIF and AIFM regulation;
  • Knowledge of accounting standards such as LUXGAAP, IFRS, USGAAP;
  • Fluency in English, with French or German proficiency as a bonus;
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet client deadlines with a mature approach;
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
