SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (M/F)
THE JOB : DO Recruitment Advisors is delighted to assist our client, an international business law firm, in recruiting a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (M/F). This is an exciting opportunity to work within an ambitious organization that is constantly evolving internationally and developing its people to meet new challenges. You will be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day operational activities and general accounting tasks.
Under the supervision of the Head of Finance and while working autonomously, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Booking day-to-day activities as a backup (accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash receipts, etc.) and handling more complex transactions.
- Addressing more complex accounting topics (e.g., intercompany reconciliations).
- Preparing direct and indirect tax returns and reconciliations.
- Supporting lawyers on finance-related matters.
- Performing all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with local GAAP and company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring vendor invoices and check requests are paid in accordance with authorization and approval policies and following up on unapproved invoices.
- Participating in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting and assisting with the yearly statutory audit.
- Compiling sales tax/use tax information and preparing tax returns (VAT, etc.).
- Generating balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial statement accuracy.
- Preparing fixed asset tracking and reconciliations, including monthly depreciation.
- Developing procedures to improve workflow efficiency and internal controls, and supporting periodic internal audit/compliance reviews.
- Supporting the generation of annual financial statements, preparing documentation for external auditors, and assisting in the annual audit process.
- Participating in project work, including cooperation with the GSC in Poland and implementing resulting processes in the Luxembourg Finance department.
This list is not exhaustive, and there will be opportunities to develop your skills based on your abilities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent, e.g., BTS/DUT) with a minimum of 6-8 years' experience in general accounting.
- Experience in a commercial or professional services company is a significant plus.
- You possess excellent knowledge of VAT and taxes in Luxembourg.
- You have excellent knowledge of Excel; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Experience with data analytics tools or AI (e.g., PowerBI) is a significant advantage.
- You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and are fluent in French and English.
- You have good time management skills and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- You are methodical, possess a mature disposition, and can handle stress effectively.
- You are a proactive team player who can work independently and take ownership when necessary.
- You have a hands-on attitude and are results-oriented.
- You are always willing to assist other team members.
