Your Role...
The Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Luxembourg is looking for a Doctoral Researcher for a 36-month fixed-term contract (with a possible 12-month extension) starting no later than January 1st, 2025.
Description of research topic
The global population is aging, with a growing number of individuals relocating to different countries, giving rise to a distinctive group - ageing migrants. This group faces unique challenges due to aging while adapting to new environments, leading to specific health risks. Addressing the health and well-being of ageing migrants using digital technologies is a pressing global issue.
The candidate will conduct research at the intersection of migration and aging, focusing on health and/or technology, working closely with Dr. Adrian Stanciu.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research towards a PhD in Psychology through peer-reviewed publications
- Collect data from populations of older individuals with a migration background
- Analyze primary and secondary data using quantitative methods
- Contribute to publications and conferences
- Participate in research-related activities and establish partnerships
- Engage in teaching activities
What we expect from you...
- Hold a master's degree in Psychology or a related field
- Proficiency in R for data analysis
- Interest in quantitative methods and interdisciplinary research
- Willingness to travel and relocate
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication, organizational, and research skills
- Commitment to deadlines and self-management
- Excellent command of English, knowledge of French and German is a plus
