Your Role:
PhD Topic 1:
"Optimal antenna placement and waveform design for Massive MIMO 4D imaging radar sensors"
The PhD topic focus on how to optimize the placement of antennas and the design of waveforms for Massive MIMO 4D imaging radars.
This would involve investigating different optimization tools, antenna configurations and waveform parameters to maximize the performance of the radar system in terms of accuracy, resolution, and range.
Outcomes:
- The PhD student will be the first author on at least two journal publications and four conference publications.
For the PhD Topic1, the profile should have a strong background in radar technology, antenna design, and signal processing. Excellent programming skills, particularly in MATLAB or Python, would be beneficial.
PhD Topic 2:
"AI-assisted receiver design for Massive MIMO 4D imaging radars"
The PhD topic will focus on designing receiver for Massive MIMO 4D imaging radar systems, while developing AI-assisted techniques for object detection and tracking.
The goal of this research would be reducing the requirement for high sampling rate ADCs, and improving the accuracy and efficiency of the detection and tracking processes using advanced machine learning algorithms.
Outcomes:
- The PhD student is expected to publish at least two journal publications and four conference publications as the first author.
Your Profile:
- Radar Systems and Signal Processing
- Optimization methodologies
- Machine Learning and deep learning
Development skills in MATLAB/python/C++ is required and exposure to latest signal processing techniques, linear algebra and deep learning are desirable.
Language Skills:
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
