Your area of work


You will work on several tax issues and will be involved in tax driven projects (indirect tax) of the Luxembourg based entities of Group Deutsche Börse, including their foreign branches.

You will work closely with the existing team of tax specialists based mainly in Luxembourg and Germany and collaborate with other relevant stakeholders, including Accounting, Billing and Controlling.


Your responsibilities

  • Ongoing review of domestic and foreign VAT legislation, jurisprudence and guidelines;
  • Be a key contact person for domestic and foreign group entities regarding indirect tax related queries, be part in ad hoc projects and assess, evaluate and advise on local and international indirect tax issues including preparation of professional tax memorandums;
  • Provide recommendations and propose solutions from an indirect tax point of view regarding the billing setup. Support to enhance the existing SAP S/4HANA environment (material management, tax determination logic, tax code logic determination);
  • Monitor and update existing processes including automated controls in SAP S/4HANA to enhance efficiency and to ensure tax compliance;
  • Coordinate with local tax authorities, statutory and internal auditors;
  • Provide inhouse training on VAT matters and communicate new tax developments internally;
  • Be willing to support on direct tax and transfer pricing related topics, if required.

Your profile

  • Degree in business administration, economics or law, ideally with a major in tax;
  • Ideally postgraduate tax degree;
  • Professional knowledge of the Luxembourg and European VAT system; knowledge of the banking and investment funds sector is desirable;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a tax professional preparing and reviewing VAT tax returns for Luxembourg companies. (A big 4 experience is an advantage);
  • Chamber of Commerce Cycle A and Cycle B Diplomas (or their English equivalent)
  • Fluent in English and ideally good comprehension of German or French;
  • Interest in IT topics, proficiency in SAP or comparable systems and MS Office.
Additionally, you need to be a team player with good communication skills, highly motivated, flexible and a pro-active self-starter.
