Job Description:
Our client, a well-known and respected US-based asset manager with an established presence in Lux, is looking to recruit an additional member of the team in their AML Department (EMEA) by hiring an AML Officer who is looking for progression as their second career move.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career further in a forward thinking company, one that is collaborative and works via consensus.
This would be an ideal role for you if you work in funds services and looking for an oversight role, or in asset management already considering something different to explore.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Management and oversight of AML processes and controls
- Oversight of thirdparty TA administrators who manage outsourced AML activities
- Identify and manage AML related risks and issues and report and escalate as appropriate.
- Work closely with Global Financial Crime team where it is responsible for the 2nd line of defence
- Collaborate with all parties delivering in AML services and lead with regular meetings in order to resolve daily and ongoing issues.
- Work with the TA Reporting team and prepare accurate monthly MIS reports
- Perform client due diligence as required, including risk assessment, KYC, adverse media, PEP and sanctions screening for internal clients.
- Manage / support AML related projects especially on escalations, reporting and the implementation or change to AML processes in line with AML regulations and policy.
What you will need:
- 23 years Luxembourg based experience in a similar role in an asset management firm or a fund services provider.
- Good understanding of outsourcing AML/KYC oversight requirements
- Knowledge of AML in a funds environment, preferably regulated funds. AIFs will be considered
- Fluent English and preferably another European language
- Strong understanding of Luxembourg laws and regulations relevant to AML
- Ability to be selfmanaged, work autonomously and within a team
- Be confident engaging with others both externally and internally, with a good team spirit and communication skills
