TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
In your role you will assist in managing the price risk of kerosene, the largest operating cost at an airline, and carbon emissions, the increasingly important element of Cargolux's sustainability approach.
As a key member of the corporate finance team, your main responsibility will be implementing Cargolux's financial risk management strategy.
You will help managing a portfolio of commodity derivatives in jet, gasoil and crude. You will execute transactions in international carbon markets.Position management, risk analysis and interaction with senior management internally, as well as financial counterparties externally, will be your day-to-day tasks.
In this role, you are welcome to further evolve into the wider corporate finance context at this airline, expanding your skills to aviation, treasury and financial planning functions all covered within the team.
In Fuel & CO2 Management:
- Contribute to putting into place a prudent fuel hedging portfolio according to the Fuel Risk Management policy and Risk Management Committee decisions
- Provide decision making information to the Fuel Risk Management function as well as to top management of Cargolux and other divisions
- Assist in CO2related finance matters
- Be the deputy of the Head of Fuel & CO2 Management and perform his duties in his absence
In detail:
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the fuel hedging and the CO2 side by attending trainings, conferences, seminars and workshops
- Execute oil and CO2 deals as per Risk Committee decisions and relevant policies
- Assist in C02 and environmental aspects with respect to sustainable finance
- Deliver decision support and market information to the department, top management, and other divisions
- Carry out market intelligence by communicating with key market players and by researching on your own
In broader Corporate Finance:
- Assist with the management of existing financing structures
- Contribute to business planning & cash forecasting
- Develop and advance inhouse financial modeling
- Assist with forex and interest rate hedging
- Help with adhoc projects as assigned by the Sr Manager Corporate Finance
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Full university background (Master Degree) in finance
- Other qualifications (Chartered Financial Analyst, FRM) are a plus
- Experience in a corporate finance, treasury is considered a plus
- Excellent technical skills in financial risk management, financial analysis, financial modelling
- Familiarity with the wide range of financial products (e.g. derivatives, structured products,)
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, to take initiatives and to manage project
- Orientation to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position based in Luxembourg
- Occasional travel may be required
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
