We are currently looking for a:

DevOps Engineer (M/F)

¤about the job

As DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for DevOps processes and practices as part of the software engineering team, specifically working with the mission control system, ‘Hands-off Operations Platform’ (HOOP). The platform is a modern, highly scalable cloud-based platform to operate the space and ground segment of multiple satellite constellation projects.

The platform functions as an internal product for missions and space projects for clients in the global space industry, including commercial clients, government bodies and defense agencies. You will join a team of 10 people working in different fields, such as software developers, test engineers, architects and project managers that collaborate closely using agile methodologies. You will be leading DevOps practices, collaborating with colleagues on code reviews, continuous improvement, and enforcement of coding best practices. 

The majority of your time will be spent on the continuous development and improvement of the platform, but some time is allocated to specific projects. Some responsibilities in cybersecurity and compliance are also part of the role. 

Responsibilities include: 

· Creating, optimizing and maintaining an optimal platform and CI/CD pipeline 

· Driving automation of application deployment for test and production environments 

· Building tools to automate, simplify and de-risk processes 

· Defining monitoring requirements and implementing automated incident resolution solutions 

· Managing technical releases including software deploys and de-risking deploys 

· Analyzing requirements and translating them into technical solutions 

· Optimizing the DevOps processes and tools to reduce the operational costs and shortening the development loop 

· Documenting and enforcing the CI/CD processes 

· Working collaboratively with the development, testing and operational teams 

· Owning and improving the quality and delivery of the solutions you build 

· Sharing your expertise and knowledge with others as well as helping them to grow 

· Contributing to the tech roadmap, the tech radar and our collectives 

· Proactively participating in Scrum ceremonies 

You will refer to the head of department & senior program manager in this position. You should expect to be traveling approximately once a quarter to visit colleagues.

We imagine that you have some years of experience as a DevOps engineer and a background in computer science, software engineering, having worked as software or infrastructure engineer or similar. Experience from the space industry is not a requirement, but would be an added plus. However, an interest in new space technology and technology trends in general are important to both succeed and enjoy being a part of the company in which you will work with highly specialized colleagues.  

Qualifications: 

· In-depth understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment concepts and tools, including SCM (Git) and CI servers (Jenkins/Github Actions) 

· Proven work experience with cloud environments and providers (AWS, MS Azure)

·Infrastructure-as-Code and the ability to understand and implement IaC principles (Terraform/Terragrunt) 

· Experience with Linux environment, Bash and Python scripting 

· Experience with containerisation (Docker) and container orchestration/clusters (Kubernetes, Helm) 

· Sound understanding of networking, DNS resolution, proxy servers (Nginx, Traefik) 

· Knowledge within database administration, including ElasticSearch, MongoDB, PostgreSQL 

· Experience with system monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana is a plus 

· Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ) is a plus 

· Cybersecurity knowledge 

· Working experience in Agile / Scrum / DevOps teams.
